Dandruff is a common condition that causes flaky, itchy, and sometimes sore spots on your scalp. It can affect anyone at any age, but it's most common in teenagers and young adults. Women are more likely than men to get dandruff, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

• Stress - Too much stress can lead to exacerbation of dandruff. The body's overall balance is disturbed by stress, including the production of oils on the scalp.
• Environmental conditions - Scalp becomes dry and flaky due to dry, cold weather or low humidity levels. This increases the likelihood of dandruff. Excessive heat and humidity can also stimulate sebum production, leading to dandruff.
• Poor hygiene - Less shampooing or not rinsing the scalp and hair properly can lead to the accumulation of dead skin cells. The excess of these dead skin cells and oils promotes dandruff formation.
